Record spoken word...
Description:
In my movie trailer I go over my understanding within the world that I am I live in.
When I create artwork I'll make sure that I'm able to express how I feel through my visual paintings or sculptures. Just like digital learning; painting and sculpture is a way for me to express my self, giving the sculpture a whole knew meaning. . If it was through teachings of stories, or of family and friends. I would put my critical reflections into these visual prompts. That can start a conversation. Just like the art work that i was working on, in this movie trailer.
Reflection (Week 1)
First thing that I have learned about copyright, is that when you cite images on the internet, the citation should appear directly below the image, using APA format. (if it does not show up, make sure you provide as much information as possible) Second thing I learned about copyright, is that you can use CITE IT HERE, to help you. It's super easy to access and understand. Netiquette is the Rules of Conduct" for working in the Cyber World. Something that we as educators need to keep in mind when teaching about the digital world is using text language, to be able to demonstrate a level of professionalism and proficiency, (may be talking to parents, students and colleagues through your online communication and publication. We also looked into "Creative Commons." This week was very informational. We used many digital tools to help us connect to our own experiences
Reflection (week 2)
This week we focused on Evolving through Online presence safely This was a topic, that helped capture the driving question for being able to provide purpose, having a clear and compelling language and understanding about my Genius Borad Project. I created my Vision Borad For my Genius Borad, around elements of my own learning style. The objective of my Genius Borad is to create a universal classroom one day, about learning new ways to be able to support students in a classroom that is universal to all. Some words that i highlighted in my Visual Prompt were Inclusion and Mindfulness, and having a Growth mindset. Theses three elements helped me integrate ideas of digital learning, mindfulness, and art together in the classroom. This week I did some research on the different themes that I can consider when creating a Genius Borad. During This week I created a list of items that I made important. I first did the research, then used my Emojis that were located on my computer to embed them into a list. Which had visual representation, or what i like to call "memory aid photos"
This is what I put together....
๐ Solve a Problem:

By adding theses icons beside the sentence, I am hoping that it will give an emphasis on the what is being asked for, or helps prompt my own thinking process going forward with my Genius Broad. As a student/educator of a Learning Disability, this helps my own process of information, with a visual representation that helps me establish a prompt with a visual image. This kind of strategy is something that I use, when studying for exams, and creating my own "Cheat Sheet", which helps me illustrate my own thinking and brainstorming. This week I also created this blog. I am very excited to continue to enhance my understanding and knowledge about digital learning.
๐กReflection: (Week 3)
This week has been very impactful, I learned more about myself as a reflective learner and educator. And I put into context of what I have created for myself with this Genius Assignment. I really enjoyed creating this movie trailer. I took a more personal outlook onto it as discussing my process as an artist and teacher. I gave a look at it in a more artistic format with a little bit of a spoken word that I was reading from a journal that I wrote. As I critically reflect on my incredible productive week, I come into a understanding through the use of recording ones voice to make a impact on a video. I feel that the recording of my voice creates a impact on the audience because it makes it more of a personal story telling. A way that I can educate this in the classroom with my students, is buy really encouraging using digital technology to really enhance our own understanding of the world around us, but also creating an imprint on our own digital footprint. The way we learned through digital tools can really make our experience in the classroom more inclusive, and fun. "We all learn ,we may learn differently but we still learn." I feel like we all need to be more comfortable with the digital technology that is around us in classrooms. Really creating these environments as engaging and inclusive as can be. And then we can teach others and share resources of our own learning. That is very the Growth Mindset it begin. I have realize that there are so many resources available to us that are free, either podcasts or introductions to using Microsoft Teams or Google blog. I feel that using digital technology can really help when we are in the classroom and enhance and create a universal learning environment with others . It enables this creativity outlet that we can innovate different ways to address situations or social justice lens, I feel like it starts a conversation or dialogue about anything that we are passionate about. This week we watched a Ted Talk Called Sugata Mitra: The child-driven education, Something that stood out to me was (started at 1:40/17:13) "children will learn to do, what they want to learn to want to do". This quote
really establishes a moto, that is similar to my own moto of learning. I am really starting to connect the work and research we do in this class, to elements of my own life and experience. This kind of connection is helping me look more deeper into my learning and towards my goal of my Genius Borad. I created slides to illustrate my artistic elements, in regards to A critical lens as a educator and learner, through the 4C's (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity) Theses four tools, are most defiantly elements and vocabulary that i want to place in my own folder as a educator when working on lesson plans and project based lesson plans with Junior and Primary students in my future placement. I created a Poster, that helped me identify visual images, that can help me remember in the future. I also attached. Teacher Guide, for other teacher to be able to look into for more information. I attached this into my Blog, for my own understanding, but also for others who are wanting to invest time into getting to know the magical tools of the Digital world, and being able to successfully integrate it into a classroom.
The 4 C’s are universal to students and educators. With guided inquiry, coding challenges, project-based learning, and problem-based learning. The Four’ C’s of digital tools of learning, are critical thinking which is the ability to analyze, interpret, evaluate, make decisions and solve problems. This can be used to construct online research with, firsthand interviews and also students can use graphic organizers and illustrator findings and share with one another. Communication is to share information while expressing their thoughts and opinions clearly to others it also requires strong was thinking evaluation skills in order to aid in collaboration. Students can use the power of their own voice to share information, while also expressing their thoughts and opinions clearly to others. This can be in verbal written or multimedia messages. Collaboration with other student’s ability to work with each other and accomplish a goal, while also sharing group responsibilities. Creativity includes abilities such as brainstorming refining ideas make ideas tangible and useful to others and work together to brainstorm innovative ways to address important social justice issues, example recycling creating accountability together and being able to contrast and reflect critically, through technology.
This week we learned about Exploring Tech tools. I choose to complete and learn about the learning Badge. I used "Bubbl.us" To create a digital Mind Map, to be able to articulate and illustrate my understanding of this Badge. I was also expected to write down five other digital tools, that stood out to me. Bubbl.us: This program allows you to create colourful and engaging mind maps, graphical representations of concepts and ideas and the relationships between them. It’s great for planning projects, collaborating with others, and brainstorming with your team. It is very easy to use and quick to use, it’s a very simple tool that features and option are very easy to understand, it lets you view a project using the presentation mode and save it and share it. The only weakness that I have with this program is that its free version but has very limited features. This program is suitable for all ages, and all grades, and or instructional proposes. The way I can see myself using this website is for my own personal needs as a student, but also to brainstorm with students, and encourage my students and others to use it to brainstorm. National Gallery of Art, Art Tales for Pre-K:This website is filled with many resources about learning art at any age. As a teacher you can find many various lesson ideas, teaching resources and professional developmental opportunities. There is lots of resources and free interactive iPad Apps, where children can learn about art and creating their own masterpieces. What I enjoyed most about this website, is that there is “art tales” for Pre-k all the way up to high school resources. With downloaded PDF files to help start a conversation of artists. Like Henri Matisse, Wassily Kandinsky. The way I can envision myself using this website, is to incorporate language, and history into my lesson plans for my students for extra resources. Kahoot :Is a good program to be able to interact with older students, but the weakness is with younger students, the suitability of this program is that it can be used in all age and grades for quizzes, or even surveys to make sure that students are understanding the context that they are learning. The interesting finding that I found on this cite, is that you can create a learning game, and host live classes or videos as a conferencing tool to connect to students virtually on any devices, design a challenge . Bouncy Balls:This website is a classroom nice level matter, monitor and management tool, perfect if your students are too noisy. I would use this tool for Gym Classes, or to teach younger students the power of digital programs. This program also has similar programs such as https://neave.com/ this link where you can find, Zoom Earth, Tic-Tac-Toe, retro version of the simple game X’s and O’s. The only weakness element of this program is that it can be only used for the level of monitor sound and management tool. Random Name Picker: This tool is very easy to use, it allows you to instantly pick a random name (winner) from a list of names. I like this program because it can help with picking groups for students, and giving contests, drawing, giveaways and promotions. This program can be suitable for all students when they are doing research or collaborative work with others,
Reflection (Week 5)
This week the theme was "Creating Tech Enhanced Lessons", Today section we created a curation Badge, of building background for our Genius Borad, around the format of Digital Tools. Two Platforms that have been helping me create my Genius Board has been Pinterest, which is a curation platform that i highly recommend. its super easy to use, and simple to understand, you can save images that you enjoy. You can also add them to folders and create smaller folders inside the big ones. I have been using Pinterest for a long time, for my own research for teaching, and creating lesson plans. This platform has multi-use and is something that I use personally and in my professional career. Another digital curation platform is Google Note, for three reason; . First it is connected to Google, which means you can access theses notes, with your Google Classroom, your Google blog. It is very straight forward with accessing and using the features on this site. Third You can easily organize and drag in photos, and links from YouTube, straight into your browser. This week we also created a "This is not a Box" (using Google Drawing) and A house, Using Google Slides.
(Using Google Slides)
"This is not a box, I am a Surprised Robot"
Virtual Sync Activity:
( Google Drawing)
"House"
Some Research that I came Around This week and Last week for brainstorming:
Theses videos, helped me illustrate and brainstorm on how to create my ted Talk
My Genus Hour Project first started as an on-going project to document my time at Brock University as a Teacher candidate as it was a way to create a digital portfolio, where I would create an artifact that I can add all my classes that I am enrolled in, to be able to share my thoughts, reflections and growth. As this was the end goal to my project.
The fundamental part of the Genius Hour is the development of my own reflections of learning. The refinement and further expanding on questions for research as well as examination of what I was learning, through resources and deep thinking. My google blog provided a platform for my own reflection, sharing and collaboration, providing a forum for others to give me feedback, has been a huge push towards my journey on the digital platform.
During these six weeks I constructed research of other Genius Hour Project integrated into many Ted Talks. This is where I was able to develop a stronger relationship with digital learning and technology with providing embedded links, hyperlinked photos, and other research of interest to myself. The most important part about this project was learning about myself as a student, learner, and leader and soon to be teacher. By combining my refection’s and work along these past weeks, it has challenged me but also kept me on my toes. Reflecting on my Google Blog, I have really got comfortable with the template, and will defiantly provide my future students with this opportunity. The one thing I would change about my Genius Blog is creating it on Google site instead. I was introduced to Google Site in my Week 6 of the course. It was a site that was so easy to use, I defiantly feel as an extension to my genius hour project will be transferring my artifacts to my site, to create an element of artifact, and element towards a digital portfolio.
